Cookie Policy

Lattice uses very few cookies. This page explains what we set on latticegame.com and play.latticegame.com, why, and how you stay in control.

Effective date: July 25, 2026. This Cookie Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy. "Cookies" here also covers similar on-device technologies such as local storage and IndexedDB.

The short version

Today, Lattice uses one first-party language-preference cookie in the browser game and stores game data on your own device. We do not set advertising cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics and our first-party product events provide aggregate measurement without cookies or user, device, session, or install identifiers.

Cookies we use now

Strictly necessary & functional

  • Language preference (lat_i18n) — remembers the language selected in the browser game so it can load that language next time.
  • On-device storage — puzzle progress, settings, streaks, personal bests, and offline game data are saved in local storage, IndexedDB, and browser-managed caches on your device, not in a Lattice account.
  • Cloudflare security — Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies when it needs to distinguish legitimate traffic from abuse or complete a security challenge.

These are essential to the site working and to remembering your choices, so they are set without asking. They do not track you across other websites.

Cookie-free aggregate measurement

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate traffic and performance without setting analytics cookies. We also send a limited set of first-party product events — such as welcome completion, puzzle starts, hints, and store-link selections — to api.latticegame.com. These events use no cookies or persistent identifiers and are recorded only as aggregate dimensions and counters. See our Privacy Policy for the exact categories.

Advertising cookies (not active yet)

The web version of Lattice may show ads in the future. Advertising cookies and similar identifiers are not in use today. Before activating them, we will update this policy and present the required consent controls, including a Google-certified consent message where required.

How to control cookies

  • Your browser — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage, IndexedDB, and cached files. Doing so may reset your language, settings, offline data, and game progress.
  • Future consent controls — if non-essential cookies are introduced, the site will provide a direct way to accept, reject, and revisit those choices.

Changes

If we change how Lattice uses cookies — for example, when advertising goes live — we will update this page and its effective date.
